What does "child custody" mean in Washington State?
Custody is an emotional topic for most parents. Often, much money is spent fighting over it, and ironically it is often the children who suffer the most collateral damage in the process.
Surprisingly, much of what parents believe they will lose their connection with their children without "winning" custody, they can protect legally without custody.
There are a few key areas where custody does make a difference, though perhaps not where you'd expect.
